Launched on 1 December 2006 under the name Medi 1 Sat, chain was created by the early French government (especially desired by the former president of the French Republic Jacques Chirac) and Morocco, to promote French culture and in the Maghreb region of North Africa and the entire Mediterranean basin. It was with a capital of 15 million, to support its infancy. 56% of the capital was held by Morocco Telecom and CDG. The remaining shares of participation amounted to 30% of French shareholders and to 14% in the Medi 1 radio. |
